The Firm has considerable experience in banking and insurance matters. This experience encompasses the representation of banks and insurance companies before regulatory authorities as well as handling transactions and disputes.
Within the banking sector the Firm has considerable experience in different types of banking and financing transactions, including loans and credits as well as various other matters related to the bank's business. We have dealt in a number of matters concerning a bank's confidentiality and the protection of client data. The result of cases handled by us is the recognition of the right of banks to process and exchange information concerning credit worthiness of the banks clients. We have also been involved in legal problems relating to the issue of credit cards by banks. Often we have been used to represent the banks before the KNF (Financial Supervision Authority).
Recently there was an explosion of cases of currency options entered by a huge number of Polish companies with the banks. We have been involved in number of such transactions, including negotiations with the banks on behalf of the client companies, and few court or arbitration disputes, resulting from such option transactions.
In insurance matters we have been involved in disputes concerning the responsibilities of insurance companies. We have also represented insurance companies before The Financial Supervision Authority and other authorities in obtaining necessary permits, or in disputes between insurance companies and governmental authorities. Currently, we are advising an insurance company which intends to have its shares listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Marcin Marczuk and Miłka Kuźnicka have considerable experience in insurance matters.
